Kernersville Bulldogs Win Cincinnati Summer Tourney

The Kernersville Bulldogs Collegiate Team went 6 and 0 to win the Southern Ohio Woodbat Tourney Title.

15 teams from five summer collegiate leagues competed for the crown. The Bulldogs comprised of local Triad colleges and the Carolina Virginia league captured the Championship on Sunday by defeating the West Chase Express of Houston, Texas 8 to 1 in Semifinals and then the Cincinnati Stars of the Ohio league 7 to 3 in the finals.

Pfeiffer University’s Johnny Brown, UNCG’s Ray Crawford and WSSU’s Brandon Harrison paced the hitting while locals Duncan Everett and Austin Hardin picked up wins on the mound.

Kernersville is currently 27 and 8 on the summer. Head coach Dale Ijames was pleased as pitching gave up 6 totals runs in tourney and the offense is rounding into shape scoring 39 against some very good pitchers.
