Hoppers need healthy bodies

The best news for the Hoppers after Tuesday’s 9-7 loss to Hagerstown — their 10th defeat in the last 12 games — was that two players on the disabled list will be activated.

Shortstop Terrence Dayleg and relief pitcher Kevin Cravey will be added to the roster. Dayleg is the defensive anchor of the infield and Cravey, 6-0 with a 1.61 ERA, will bolster the bullpen. To make room, reliever Chris Shafer will rejoin Jupiter and infielder Yeison Hernandez will return to Jamestown.

That leaves two key players still on the DL — second baseman Austin Barnes and center fielder Brent Keys. Barnes (shoulder) could return in a few days but Keys (hamstring) is still 7-10 days away.
