If you took a poll and asked who was the heart and soul of the Greensboro Grasshoppers effort tonight at NewBridge Bank Park, most would say Charlie Lowell took a toll while he was on partrol, as the Hoppers’ starting pitcher on Monday night….Lowell sent down 14 Intimidators by way of the ‘K’ and it was just his day/night and he faced 22 batters through his 7 innings of work and only allowed one hit and that came on a home run in the 7th inning, by Kannapolis’ Chris Curley…..Lowell had a perfect game going through the first five innings and the first man to reach for for the Intimidators got on by way of an error at short, by the Hoppers…..

One of those all-time nights for Charlie Lowell and then Greg Nappo comes in from the bullpen, after a delay and Nappo works the 8th and 9th innings and he strikes out 3 more Intimidators in the 9th, to take the Hoppers nightly strikeout total to 17…..One run on one hit and no walks, with 14 strikeouts by Charlie Lowell…..Nappo gave up run to Chris Curley, with his second solo HR of the night…..Nappo allowed a couple of runs during his relief work…..
