Northern Guilford tops Chesterfield, S.C. 21-0 at Novant Classic, in Summerfield

from Wednesday night at Northern Guilford in the Novant Classic Football Scrimmages:
(Video footage of the game coming up here on Thursday morning)…..

Northern Guilford 21
Chesterfield, South Carolina 0

Northern touchdowns by Chris Ripberger, T.J. Logan and Bernard Sindab….NG rotated three different QB’s with Burney Sindab, Ryan Dirks and Austin Coltrane all back there taking the snaps and Dirks probably had the most overall yards of the three and he gained most of his yardage on the ground…Most impressive RB was Ripberger….T.J. Logan got caught up in an altercation early in the game and had to leave the game in the first quarter….

On defense it was Austin Coltrane with at least two-three of the hardest hits of the night from his DB position and another one of his hard hits came in coverage with a tackle, on the opening kickoff of the game….TJ Ruff tough on ‘D’ along with Malik Prileau and others….Not a bad outing against a decent team with a very solid QB in Dave Jackson, coming in from South Carolina to give the Nighthawks a test….

Northern has Crest coming up in their next scrimmage and another 3-A powerhouse South Point is supposed to be there too…This will be at Boiling Springs Crest….Not a bad start for the Nighthawks tonight…..

  1. Not one comment on why or how Logan got thrown out of a scrimmage game?? Really?? lol…. ummmm….ok!

  2. It was metioned in the game report and that is enough said about it…..Nothern carried on and did very well in the game….Three TD’s and no points allowed, the key there would be the kids that played and they did their job…..Nuff said and it was a practice game for the players and for the officials too…The officials were in training mode last night just like the players and there were some new first time refs on the field and that is beside the point, but as I said, enough said….TJ will be ready to do his job when the first game comes around and as for last night, ‘lesson learned’…..
