Olympic Gold Medalist Chris Paul To Play New Breed Logistics Pro-Am at Wyndham Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After winning the gold medal yesterday in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, United States basketball player Chris Paul did not have extra time for the celebration. He had to hurry home – he has a tee time Wednesday during the Wyndham Championship’s New Breed Logistics Pro-Am, it was announced today. The 73rd annual Wyndham Championship began today with the Kevin Harvick Foundation Pro-Am presented by Technology Concepts and Design, Inc.

Paul played a major role on the Olympic basketball team that won the gold medal with a 107-100 victory over Spain in yesterday’s gold-medal game. It was the second-consecutive gold medal for the United States, and Paul played on both teams. Paul was the NBA rookie of the year in 2006 after playing two seasons at Wake Forest University. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Contested annually on the Donald Ross-designed course at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., the Wyndham Championship was founded in 1938 and is the seventh-oldest event on the PGA TOUR.
