Bradley Faircloth is pretty much the name you think of when ACC football officials come to mind….He was the standard-bearer of ACC football referees for many years…Faircloth graduated from Grimsley High School back in 1947 and from what we read, he was a very good basketball player back in his day….He played at Duke and I just learned yesterday, that Phil Weaver, another Grimsley man, also played at Duke back in the day…

Mr. Faircloth passed away on Sunday at the age of 82 from an inoperable brain tumor and he along with Fred Barakat, they were part of the real fiber of the Atlantic Coast Conference leadership, within the area of football and basketball officiating for many, many years….

A very good leader and big part of the local sports community and he grew up and played and stayed here in Greensboro over the years and Mr. Bradley Faircloth will be missed by a large number of those in the Greensboro Sports Community….He spent many years within the ACC offices, heading up the area of football officials and he also gave back to the Greensboro Sports Community in many different ways….

RIP to Bradley Faircloth who served his family and community well during his time in Greensboro and in the Atlatic Coast Conference….
