Greensboro College Men’s Golf Ranked Nationally by Golf Digest

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — The Pride men’s golf team will open the 2012-13 campaign ranked in the top ten nationally in the Golf Digest Coaches Poll. Greensboro is one of three USA South squads to be ranked in the top 25 nationally. The Pride received 246 total votes.

Greensboro is coming off a strong 2011-12 showing that saw them win the USA South Championship and earn a bid to the NCAA National Championship. The Pride finished the tournament with a 12th place finish.

Greensboro welcomes back three contributors from last year’s team, including USA South individual champion Scott Novicki. Also returning is Nick Peoples, who lost a playoff to Novicki at the conference championship match, and 2011 All-American Kirk Mitchell.

The Pride are scheduled to kick off the new year on September 17 with a home dual meet with Averett University. The meet will be held at Bryan Park in Greensboro, NC.
