College Volleyball Final – Bridgewater 3, Guilford 0

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Katie Long put away 10 kills to lead Bridgewater College past Guilford College Saturday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) volleyball match Saturday. The host Eagles (5-2, 2-0 ODAC) remained unbeaten in the league with a 25-19, 25-21, 25-17 victory.
Long, who hit .206, added eight digs to her match. Megann Grimes added nine kills and three blocks. Bethany Doman chipped in with eight kills on .438 hitting, a match-high five service aces and six digs. Casey O’Leary led the Eagles with a match-best 15 digs and Kylie Graham led Bridgewater with 18 assists.

A trio of Quakers (3-8, 1-1 ODAC) shared team-high putaway honors with nine: Brittany DeCesare, Malikah French and Kelsey Ruehling. French hit .357 in the match and also added an ace and four digs. Ruehling narrowly missed a double-double with 11 digs, two off Brooke Herr’s team-leading total. Taylor Whitley led all students with 28 assists and also had six digs and a service ace.

Guilford visits Randolph College Wednesday (10/19) for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC match
