Guilford’s Matt Pawlowski named Old Dominion Atheltic Conference Offensive Player of the Week

Pawlowski, a freshman from Greensboro, N.C., helped the Quakers to their first win of the 2012 campaign as he had a hand in four of Guilford’s six touchdowns in its 45-35 shootout with Averett University. Pawloski was 18-of-28 passing for 239 yards and three touchdowns, and he added a six-yard touchdown as the game’s final score to ice the victory. Pawlowski(Northwest Guilford HS) and receiver Nick Mearite(Ragsdale HS) had a strong connection as the pair hooked up for eight catches that covered 125 yards and included two first half touchdowns, one coming on a fourth-and-goal play. His three touchdown passes and 64.3 completion percentage are season-highs for the first-year signal-caller.
