Holden Thorp ready to step down as UNC-CH Chancellor

Holden Thorp will step down as the UNC-CH chancellor at the end of this school year(2012/2013) and he will return to his previous role, as a professor in the Tar Heel chemistry department….

Chancellor Thorp spoke with former Greensboro resident/judge/Davidson College president Tom Ross on Sunday night and Thorp told Ross of his intentions…..Ross, Thorp’s boss, said it would be a loss, but he would toss the job opening out there and Thorp told Ross heel(he’ll) stick around past the June 1 deadline, if UNC-CH could not find his replacement by that date….
