N.C. State signs another Anthony Barber, this one a top-rated basketball player

N.C. State signed a football player back in the late 1980’s from Garner High School and his name was Anthony Barbour…Barbour was one of the top high shool runningbacks in NCHSAA history….The top five high school football players all-time to come out of this state have been listed as Barbour(Garner), Charlie Justice(Asheville), Carlester Crumpler(Wilson Fike), Julius Peppers(Northern Nash) and Todd Ellis(Greensboro Page)….

Now there is another Anthony Barber and he is also heading to N.C. State to play basketball…..The new Barber is listed as a point guard, so he may find himself sharing time with Tyle Lewis from Oak Hill/Forsyth Country Day….

Anthony Barber gets the N.C. State Wolfpack off to a good start in the class of ’13 with his commitment Saturday. Barber, a 6-2 point guard from Hampton, Va., is ranked No. 9 in the class by Rivals.com, 11th by ESPN.

Barber wrote in a text message Saturday that he chose the Wolfpack over Kansas and Alabama.
