College Women’s Soccer Final – Guilford 6, Eastern Mennonite 0

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Kelli Uresti scored twice and Sarah Levitt added a goal and an assist in Guilford College’s 6-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer win at Eastern Mennonite University Saturday. The Quakers’ (3-7, 2-2 ODAC) third straight win marked the 100th coaching victory of head coach Eric Lewis’ Guilford career.

Guilford grabbed a 3-0 halftime lead thanks to a pair of late tallies. After Gabrielle Lahowitch opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with an unassisted goal, the Quakers doubled their lead when an Eastern Mennonite (3-5, 0-3 ODAC) defender knocked the ball into its own goal 2:15 before the half. Uresti notched her first tally of the day off a free kick 27 seconds before the break.

Uresti struck again in the 56th minute to make it a 4-0 game. Levitt fed Hannah Schiltz for a breakaway goal at the 64:20 mark and then scored off a Lily Wotkyns helper 1:19 before the end of the game.

Guilford outshot Eastern Mennonite, 26-7, and Cori Karoly made one save in the Quakers’ first shutout of the season. Becca Borg made 11 saves in goal for the Royals.

Lewis holds Guilford records for most women’s soccer wins and longest tenure. He owns a 100-101-15 record in 10-plus seasons on the Quakers’ sidelines. Lewis has coached 17 All-ODAC selections at Guilford and is a 1996 graduate of UNC Greensboro.

The Quakers return home to host league-rival Lynchburg College Wednesday (9/26) at 7:00 p.m.
