College Men’s Soccer Final – Eastern Mennonite 2, Guilford 0

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Mark Mast and Kurtis Blosser scored second-half goals in Eastern Mennonite University’s 2-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer win over visiting Guilford College Saturday night.

The Royals (5-3-1, 2-0 ODAC) took advantage of a red card against the Quakers (4-4, 1-1 ODAC) 22 seconds before Mast’s game-winning goal. Kurtis Blosser added an insurance tally in the 71st minute, his first goal of the season.

Despite playing down a man for the final 36 minutes, Guilford outshot the Royals in the second half, 11-7. Eastern Mennonite held a 20-18 shots advantage for the game.

Of its 18 shots, only two made it on goal and Eastern Mennonite goaltender Andrew Yoder stopped them both to earn the shutout. His counterpart, Guilford’s Michael MacVane, recorded seven saves.

Guilford faces Roanoke College Tuesday (9/25) night at 7:00 p.m. in ODAC play.
