Former MLB player now on the professional wrestling circuit:Controversy was his middle name!

Not a real surprise, cause when you mix controversy with sports entertaiment, this would be your man….He is as controversial as they have ever come and he spent much of his time in the majors, making half the crowd so mad they wanted to kill him and the other half of the crowd just couldn’t wait to see him run out there each time he took the field and the home fans always wanted him on their side….

Half the crowd hates you and the other half loves you, that sounds like the perfect recipe for a professional wrestling career….

from Jason Powell at www.prowrestling.net:

Former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Rocker made his pro wrestling debut at a benefit event for homeless veterans at the Hapeville Recreation Center outside Atlanta, Ga. Rocker teamed with Rocky King and defeated the team of Mr. Hughes and Chris Silvers , who were managed by Dave Wills. Rocker pinned Silvers following a clothesline.

“Rocker and King were cheered heavily by the racially diverse crowd in attendance,” reports a correspondent. That’s worth noting considering that Rocker made headlines for controversial comments that were widely regarded as racist, homophobic, and sexist.
