MLK Day Basketball Challenge will be coming to the Greensboro Coliseum on January 21(No Oak Hill)

Here is the lineup for the MLK Day Scholastic Basketball Challenge coming to the Greensboro Coliseum on Monday January 21….This is one of the first times that I can ever remember Oak Hill Academy, out of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, not being present/not on the schedule….No Forsyth Country Day this year either and they have been around for a long time….Pre-Tyler Lewis days…Back in the days of his brother Colby Lewis…..

Schedule from today’s News and Record at www.news-record.com and high school sports editor Jason Wolf….

Charlotte Christian vs. Greenfield, 10:30 a.m.

Oxford Webb vs. Mount Tabor, noon

High Point Christian vs. Page, 1:30 p.m.(HPCA with Jackson Kent, Diante Baldwin, Chuck Ogbodo, Michael Kobani, Stevie Williams, Rick Mack and more…Page should have Ty Graves, Anthony Eaves, and some more up and coming young players…Maybe even Lorenzo Featherston will be ready….Plus the ‘Mighty Mouse’ Jalen Gavin will be out front and leading the team at point guard….One of the top passers in the state(Gavin) and one of the hardest workers in the state, Carter Stanley will be out there for Page too…Carter reminds you a lot of John Spain with his work ethic…..

Greensboro Day vs. Smith, 3….GDS with Reggie Dillard, Reed Lucas, John Terry, Christian Hairston, we have been hearing Sharwyn McGee, plus the kid from Grimsley a few years back that plays such good defense(Mr. Montrell Goldston and glad I remembered that one) and more…..Smith lost Tracy Gathings, Drew Williams and Adrian Wimbush so they will be rebuilding….Should have J.T Williams and Cam Woods back for Smith…..

Arden Christ School vs. Raleigh Ravenscroft, 5….Josh Level out with a broken foot right now for Christ School and he should be ready and he will be a top prospect….

Wesleyan vs. Dudley, 6:30…..Theo Pison, Jaquel Richmond, Tre Champan and the kid that came in from Winston-Salem for WES and Theo is nursing a broken foot right now from what we are hearing, but Coach K from Duke and some other top name college coaches were in High Point last week to see Theo and to talk to him….Sam Hunt will lead the Dudley Panthers against the team he almost joined in the off-season…..Sam looking real hard at Jacksonville University these days from what he have been hearing…..

  1. Dudley is going to also feature Jameer weathers, Devan gregory, Khalil Vance, Yuau Shol. This team is going to surprise alot of people. should win the conference champonship easily and make it far in the state playoffs

  2. Thank-you for the update on the Dudley players…I do remember a lot of those guys…Thanks again…

  3. Seagraves is going to change the culture at dudley. Kids will be discplined and will play hard. Dont be surprised to see them make it far in the playoffs.

  4. Also saw this kid Khalil Vance play this summer the kid is a monster on the glass but is a bit undersized. He will make a big impact for dudley and i was surprised he didnt play alot last year. I dont care if this kid is 6’2 he is going to be huge to dudley’s success this year and dont be surprised if he makes all conference.

  5. Are we all set on Sam going to Jacksonville University….I think that is the school that produced Artis Gilmore, after he transferred in there from Gardner Webb and came along with his coach Joe Williams from Gardner Webb…
