Sam Hunt to Jacksonville University to play college basketball upon graduation from James B. Dudley High School….YES, just got off the phone with Dudkey head boys basketball coach Brian Seagraves and that is the word….Sam verbally committed to Jacksonville Univeristy on Tuesday….

Sam wanted to go ahead and get it done so he could focus on his senior season at Dudley…Also offers from N.C. A&T, Wofford and Sam was looking at Appalachian, but Jacksonville University seemed to be the best fit for Sam Hunt….

This was what we were hearing yesterday and the word was ooming out even stronger today….As always, the best of luck to Sam, who was winning Pizza Hut Invitational Baketball Tournament free throw contests back when he was just 8 years old and they saw put up/hang up 40 points on the North Carolina Tar Heel JV’s last year, in a game in Chapel Hill, so this young man can fill up the basket….

Sam’s dad Calvin Hunt used to fill up the basket for the Hornets of Greensboro College back in his day…..

Sam looking to connect with Jacksonville U and they had a former Gardner-Webb star at JAX U back in the day and that was when Artis Gilmore was on the scene, down in Florida, at the JAX U…..

Again, best of luck to Sam and let’s hope all of this works out great for him….

  • Good Job ! said,

Good luck to Mr Hunt down in Jacksonville. He will really be smiling this time next year around Dec and Jan when its 70 degrees outside his door instead of the 30 degrees that we will have here. Enjoy college Mr Hunt and it is good to hear that your parents and you will not be buried in debt when you finish your undergrad degree.
