GC Women’s Soccer – Gibson and Walters Net Hat Tricks in 7-0 Win Over Mary Baldwin

Allison Gibson and Tiffany Walters each recorded a hat trick as the Greensboro College women’s soccer team beat Mary Baldwin 7-0 on Friday.

Gibson helped The Pride take a 2-0 lead into the break with unassisted goals in the ninth and 26th minutes of the game. Gibson was back at it in the first minute of the second frame, adding a breakaway goal to give Greensboro a 3-0 advantage.

Walters joined the fun 30 seconds later, converting a pass from Meredith Kelly for her first goal of the day. Kelly found Walters again in the 54th minute to extend the lead to 5-0.

Brittany Crawford added a goal in the 63rd minute to push the lead to 6-0 and Walters finished the scoring with an assisted goal from Melanie Raton in the 64th minute for the final score.

The Pride held a commanding 23-3 advantage in total shots with a 14-2 margin on goal. Gibson recorded team highs in shots with seven and shots on goal with four. Shireen Unvala picked up the win in net for Greensboro.

The Pride are now 5-6 overall and 4-2 in the USA South. Greensboro will conclude the weekend trip at Washington & Lee on Sunday at 1 p.m.
