VIRGINIA BEACH – Christina Fernandes scored twice and Jessica Edelman added a goal and two assists in ninth-ranked Virginia Wesleyan College’s 7-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer win over visiting Guilford College Saturday.

Ranked ninth in this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Poll, the Marlins (12-0-1, 7-0-1 ODAC) won for the seventh straight time.

Breanne Ingargiola netted the opening goal in the 14th minute and assisted Edleman’s tally less than eight minutes later, which helped the hosts to a 2-0 halftime lead. Edelman fed Fernandes for consecutive tallies less than seven minutes apart early in the second half, doubling the Marlins’ advantage.
