Sean Brazas Memorial Soccer Game at Western Guilford High School

Sean Brazas Memorial Soccer Game

The Western Guilford boys’ soccer program will host a memorial game to honor former soccer player and 2004 alum Sean Brazas on October 18th at 7pm.

Sean was killed on May 30th, 2012 while trying to help a fellow soldier onto a helicopter in Afghanistan. A K-9 handler, Petty Officer 2nd Class Sean Brazas was stationed out of U.S. Naval Base Kitsap in Bremerton, Wash.

Donations will be taken up at the gate. All proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project. Also the Western Guilford soccer program would like to establish a scholarship fund in Sean’s name.

The game will begin at 7pm and will include honoring Sean and his family at halftime. Those interested in participating or making a donation are encouraged to contact Shaun Abernathy at 336-316-5800 or email him at abernas@gcsnc.com.

  1. If someone wants to donate and cannot make it to the game, they can contact Coach Shaun Abernathy at Western. Donations can be made out to the Western Guilford Boys Soccer Booster re: Sean Brazas Memorial Fund. We will then donate to The Wounded Warrior Project in Sean’s name.
