College Women’s Soccer Final – Randolph 5, Guilford 2

GREENSBORO, N.C.—Four Randolph College second half goals boosted the WildCats to a 5-2 victory over Guilford College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.

The WildCats’ Samantha Wittie scored the match’s first goal in the sixth minute off of a long free kick. After 41 scoreless minutes, Marielle Rando booted a Brittany Hammons pass to give the WildCats a 2-0 lead. The Quakers countered in the 63rd minute when Hannah Schiltz fed Kelli Uresti inside the box to put the Quakers on the board. Minutes later, Uresti fired a long-range shot into the net to tie the game at 2-2. The WildCats responded quickly in the 74th minute when Brittany Hammons gave Randolph a 3-2 lead. The WildCats kept up the pressure in the 76th minute when Ally Ramos scored on a breakaway to make it 4-2. Ramos would score once again in the 88th minute on a high-arching shot to give the WildCats a 5-2 win.

The Quakers outshot the WildCats 29-10. Abby Gove made four saves in net for the Quakers before being relieved by Miriam Davis-Rosenbaum for the final 22 minutes. Hunter Gibson made 12 saves in net for the WildCats.

The Quakers (3-12, 2-6 ODAC) return to Appenzeller Field at Armfield Athletic Center Saturday when Guilford hosts Shenandoah University at noon on Senior Day.
