Norris Joins HPU as Assistant Director of Development

High Point University Athletics has added Bryan Norris as Assistant Director of Development, Athletic Director Craig Keilitz announced on Friday. Norris was previously a Major Gifts Officer at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa.

“Bryan is a fantastic addition to our Athletic Department and he has already started to immerse himself in the culture of High Point University,” said Athletic Director Craig Keilitz. “He is starting in a new position and can get out to meet with people, which we think will help us connect with alumni and members of the HPU community and get them involved with HPU Athletics.”

In his new position, Norris will be reaching out to alumni and fans, fostering more involvement with HPU Athletics. He will work with the Panther Club and also help generate interest and help organize High Point’s special events. Norris is part of HPU Athletics’ External Relations staff and will also work alongside the University’s Alumni Association.

At Franklin & Marshall, Norris was responsible for designing and implementing strategies for building donor relationships and soliciting gifts to the college. He also served as Associate Director of Recreation at Loyola College in Maryland in 2011.

From 2009-11 Norris was Director of Competition for Special Olympics Schenectady, N.Y. He was responsible for organizing VIP/sponsor receptions, golf outings, 5K races and bike tours, all to raise money and awareness for the organization. He was also tasked with identifying communities suitable to host these events, developing relationships with local communities and executing the successful management of the Special Olympics.

Norris worked at Pace University from 2005-08 and served in several positions, including Facilities Manager, Director of Recreation, head cross country/track & field coach and adjunct faculty member.

Norris earned his bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education in 2003 and earned a master’s in Athletic Administration in 2005, both from West Chester University. He is married to Lauren Norris, an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at HPU.
