College Volleyball Final – Washington and Lee 3, Guilford 0

LEXINGTON, Va. – M.A. Boles put away a match-high 19 kills on .359 hitting and added nine digs in Washington and Lee University’s 3-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) volleyball win over visiting Guilford College Wednesday. The Generals moved to 19-7 (7-1 ODAC) with a 25-20, 25-13, 25-19 triumph. The Quakers drop to 9-13 (3-5 ODAC).

Boles also added two service aces and two blocks in a solid all-around performance for the hosts. She put away eight kills in the opening game and helped the Generals score the final five points after the Quakers battled to a 20-20 tie. Guilford scored the first two points of the second game, but Washington and Lee responded with a 9-1 run and never looked back. The Quakers held a 19-18 lead in the third game, but Boles tied the match with her final kill of the night, which triggered a 7-0 spurt to clinch the 400th coaching victory for Generals’ head coach Bryan Snyder.

Anna Lausberg contributed a double-double for Washington and Lee with 14 kills and 11 digs. She hit .370 in the match and helped the team hit .316 on the night. Meghan Meleski notched 24 assists and six blocks, both match highs. Alex Kinzer finished with 13 assists and two service aces.

Guilford’s Brittany DeCesare and Malikah French both registered a team-high seven kills. Teammate Taylor Whitley finished with 20 assists and seven digs. Kelsey Ruehling led the Quakers with 12 pickups and added four kills.

Guilford returns home for weekend matches with league-rivals Virginia Wesleyan College (10/20) and Randolph-Macon College (10/21).
