College Volleyball Final – Greensboro 3, Guilford 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Liz Widenhouse’s match-high nine kills led visiting Greensboro College past Guilford, 25-22, 26-24, 25-17, Tuesday night in the Ragan-Brown Field House, in the Quakers’ annual Dig Pink contest, promoting breast cancer awareness.

The Pride (14-12) gained momentum early and never gave it up. Morgan Hooks hit .333 with seven kills. Cortland Phillips tallied match-high 25 assists. Widenhouse served up match-high six service aces in the win. Danielle Simpson added match-high 18 digs.

Malikah French paced the Quakers (9-16) with seven kills on .312 hitting. Aly Haslam hit .364 with five kills. French also added three blocks, two solo. Taylor Whitley had 22 assists in the contest. Meredith Foscue picked up team-high 13 digs.

Guilford next plays home Saturday at 11:00 a.m. against Old Dominion Athletic Conference-foe Shenandoah University and 1:00 p.m. against William Peace University.
