GC Men’s Golf Turns in Top Three Finish at O’Briant-Jensen Memorial

The Greensboro College men’s golf team concluded the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial in third place among 16 teams. The two-day tournament, hosted by Guilford College, was played at the 7,002 yard, par-70 Cardinal Golf Club in Greensboro, NC.

After leading the field following Monday’s opening round, The Pride put together a 36-hole total score of 598, which placed them seven strokes behind Guilford and 20 behind Methodist.

Day one tournament leader Scott Novicki was the high individual finisher for Greensboro with a sixth place score of 147 (70-77). John Grimes (71-77) and Nick Peoples (74-74) each tied for seventh at 148.

Gregory Pappas broke the top thirty, in a tie for 28th, with an overall score of 155 (75-80). Christopher Cox was the final finisher with a card of 162 (82-80).

Brian Critzer, Kirk Mitchell and Luke Erickson each competed in the tournament as individuals.

The O’Briant-Jensen Memorial marks the conclusion of the fall season for The Pride. Greensboro will next be in action on February 18 at the Huntingdon Wynter Nationals (Wynlakes Country Club).
