Marquez North, who began the 2012 season touted as the top high school player in North Carolina and the #28 player in the nation, has gone down with injury and he is done for the year…North from Mallard Creek High School, the team that Page beat in Round Four of the NCHSAA 4-AA playoffs last season, he is planning to have surgery within the next week to repair his shoulder….

With the high school All-American North gone, this could propel Conner Mitch(QB) at Raleigh Wakefield, or T.J. Logan(RB) from Northern Guilford to the top spot, as the #1 player in the state of North Carolina…..

    Even with the injury he is still the top player in the state. that won’t change.

    per the article the injury was not something that happened recently. It is a lingering issue that has bothered him all season. I have to wonder if you have played through it all season why not finish the season, especially since they have a great shot at a state title. I am sure the family considered this but it is tough to come this far and stop with 6 weeks left. He will have time to heal the labrum after the season. This is a common football injury with a very high rate of recovery.
