The Western Guilford boys soccer team clinched the Metro 4A championship last night with a 3-0 victory over Southern Alamance. Western (15-3-4 overall) went 11-1 in conference play, giving up only five goals while scoring 37. This is Western’s first championship since moving up to 4A in 2008 and 22nd in the program’s history.
Western is currently ranked 5th in the state and will host the Central Piedmont fourth seed in the first round of the playoffs next week.
