The Bobcats have named their named their starting lineup and Brendan Haywood(Dudley HS) is the ‘Man in the Middle’

Former Dudley Panther center Brendan Haywood gets the call for the Charlotte Bobcats, as they open their season on Friday night, against the Indiana Pacers…He joins rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist from Kentucky and Gerald Henderson(Duke) is in there, among the top five…Duke and Carolina hodling two of the top five spots for the Charlotte NBA entry…

Here is the full five that will start for the Bobcats on Friday and they have Eric Gordon and Ramon Sessions coming in off of the bench….

Point Guard:Kemba Walker(Connecticut)
Shooting Guard:Gerald Henderson(Duke)
Small Forward:Michael Kidd-Gilchrist(Kentucky)
Power Forward:Byron Mullens(TBD)
Center:Brendan Haywood(Greensboro Dudley High School/North Carolina)

*****I have often wondered if Brendan Haywood might be a distant relative of the great Spencer Haywood, of ABA and NBA fame…*****

  1. I knew that Spencer Haywood was good, but look at what he did his first year in the pros:

In his rookie season, Haywood led the ABA in scoring at 30.0 points per game and rebounding at 19.5 rebounds per game. He was named both the ABA Rookie of the Year and ABA MVP during the 1969-70 season, and became the youngest ever recipient of the MVP at the age of 21.
