P.J. Hariston and the Heels ready for Gardner-Webb on Friday night

P.J. Hairston(Dudley HS/Hargrave Military Academy) and the North Carolina Tar Heels will open up the new basketball season on Friday night at home in the Dean E. Smith Center against the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs and P.J. says he and the Heels are ready for that one….

Saw P.J. tonight(Wednesday) at the McDonald’s on Battleground Avenue at Cone Blvd. and he said all systems are go for Friday night, as the Tar Heels tip off the new season…

P.J. was in town to see his younger brother William play football and I believe that P.J. said William was with Peeler and it might have been playoff time tonight at Jaycee Park…

P.J. always a good kid, who takes time to stop and talk with us and he has forever been supportive of his younger brother William….

Great young man and he was saddened to hear about the death of our radio colleague Jim Modlin…Talked today with P.J. about the time I saw him at the McDonald’s on Summit Avenue and that was the day he told me he was headed to Hargrave Military Academy for his senior year of high school….(We then broke the story.)

Many a interesting timeline with P.J. Hairston and McDonald’s:

Saw him there tonight(Cone Blvd./Battleground) prior to the 2012/2013 season-opener for the Heels…
Saw him at the Summit Ave. location when he announced he was headed to Hargrave….
Posted P.J. being named to the McDonald’s All-American team, from the MLK Blvd. McDonald’s….
