There is a certain group of Maryland fans that are blaming their current financial woes on former Terp AD Debbie Yow and her decision to expand Byrd Stadium to a much larger football stadium facility, that the fans will not fill up and thus Maryland can not pay for the increased structure and they owe big money to get this debt eliminated….

Maybe you have a few names to add to these lists….

  1. I really enjoyed Maryland in the ACC for basketball back in the 70’s and 80’s and football was fun too when Bobby Ross and Jerry Claiborne were there….Who do we get to replace Maryland?

The ACC will need to take their time, but they will need to bring a team in that replace Maryland…..

Let’s find a way to get South Carolina back in here….

I say we start a campaign to go get and bring back the Gamecocks…….

  2. The ACC is in some serious trouble. I heard a report today that the current B10 pay outs will be $30 million per team thru 2016. When the B10 finishs with its adjusted full TV contracts in 2017 it is projecting a $42M dollar pay out per year per school. The ACC is expected to be at about $24M at the same time period. The SEC will have a new TV contract by 2014 and is attempting its own TV network similar to the B10. The SEC is projecting about $22M currently and about $30-34M with its new contracts. The ACC is locked into the ESPN only contracts for the next 10 years with no possibility of a separate TV network with 1st, 2nd or even 3rd rights. With these huge differences in pay outs between the ACC and other major conferences, 10 years from now the ACC may not be much different from other 2nd tier conference such as the Big West or CAA. Without a new and future looking model to make new and unique funding, I don’t see how the ACC can keep schools such as Clemson or Florida State long term.
