CHAPEL HILL North Carolina’s coaches and players kept repeating it over and over, as if saying it often enough might somehow make it so.

“To be Coastal Division champs, and that’s the way we’ll look at it, we’re very proud of this football team,” North Carolina coach Larry Fedora said.

“To win the Coastal Division, that’s big for our program,” quarterback Bryn Renner said.

“We just had to handle our own business,” wide receiver Erik Highsmith said. “We controlled our own destiny and we won the Coastal Division.”

  1. The ACC is looking like a total joke at this point compared to leagues such as the SEC. Our league revenue is going backward compared to other leagues, we only have 2 ranked teams (both likely outside of the top 15th), our best team lost to a team that just had its coach fired, we lost all of our regular season ending match ups with the SEC, we just had a charter member quit the league, the potential national champion (ND) refuses to join our league in football because we are not good enough, we are fielding a championship game with a team that got beat up by another league at home in your final game and the other team is actually the 3rd place team with 5 losses including getting spanked by another team from the other league and fans that are basically more excited about November basketball rankings than the football teams remaining. It is sad when your kids don’t want to even pull for the local (aka ACC) teams because they think the league must suck !

  2. The ACC office does not recognize North Carolina as Coastal Division Champions.
I would hope that they learned from this consequence of missing the Championship Game that they should not cheat.
I doubt they learn though because arrogance and entitlement is so ingrained in their DNA.
