Caldwell Academy at the Greensboro Day School 5:30pm…..Reggie Dillard, John ‘JT’ Terry, Reed Lucas, Christian Hairston and Montrell Goldston leading the way so far for GDS Bengals….Reggie has hit for a game-high of 26 points already this season….
Flora McDonald at Wesleyan 5:30…Theo Pinson, Jaquel Richmond, Tre Chapman, Harry Giles looking to get it cranked up for WES and don’t the young Buckland kid…He is on the radar…..
Oak Level at Bishop McGuinness and they are going boys only at 6:30pm in Kernersville…Kevin Weckworth carrrying much of the load here early in the season….Bisohp girls don’t play, but I’ll put my money on this Carolyn Nieters kid again this season, to be one of the best girls basketball players in our area…..
New Hope Christian at New Garden Friends School…Girls 5:30pm and boys at 7:30pm…NGFS girls have Kerneice Purvis and Asia Milton…NGFS boys with Kanayo Obi-Rapu and others and New Hope has players too and we will get those your way soon….
The Wesleyan game should be fun to watch. Flora McDonald is the defending Private 1A state champs and is a powerhouse for men’s basketball in Red Springs near Fayetteville.
I did not know New Garden Friends had players good enough to play a program like New Hope Christian. They must have a good team if they are able to play teams like that. It would be nice to see the GDS girls and guys against New Hope Christian. Are they playing this year ?
NGFS girls have Keniece Purvis who used to be at Westchester Country Day and they also have Asia Milton who used to be at Norhern Guilford and then maybe one year at GDS and I had heard from a good source last year that the NGFS women had called on Sylvia Hatchell at UNC-CH to be a consultant for the building of their of their program and that is what I had heard from a fomer reputable high school assistant coach, who had also spent time as a referee….
Saw the Northern Guilford boys box score from their game on Saturday vs. Asheboro and i only recognized one name and that was Alex Mott….TJ Logan will be there soon…..
GDS website says Varsity game v Caldwell is at 7 pm at GDS, not 530 pm
The girls always play first at 5:30 pr 6pm and the boys play at either 6:30 or 7pm. Any scores available for the GDS or NGFS teams tonight ?
New Hope Christian beat new Garden
I went to the New Hope and New Garden game last night, It was blowout in both events. New Hope has one of the best boys teams in the state Carlos Rankins had 30 at least and they have a very good 6’9 kid in the middle. Ryan is on the wing with another kid that looks really. I don’t know why this team is not getting more attention.
Why is GDS not playing New Hope ? GDS is the only other private school in the area that has a good boys and girls team.
