Ragsdale opened Piedmont Triad Conference play with a visit to Parkland to take on the Mustangs. Coming out flat, the Tigers had trouble running their offense and closed out the first quarter with several turnovers which led to an 11 – 0 run by the Mustangs as they took a 17 – 11. The turnover problems continued into the second quarter, but the Tigers got a spark from senior Jarrett Holland who came off the bench to score 10 points in a minute and a half to help Ragsdale take a 28 – 24 lead. Two consecutive Tiger turnovers in the last 32 seconds of the first half gave Mustangs the final four points as they came back to tie the game at 28.
Ragsdale regrouped at the half and outscored Parkland by 27 – 19 in the third quarter to seize control. James Stepp scored 11 third quarter points to lead the way as the Tigers improved their efficiency on the offensive end and stepped up the defensive intensity. They also did a great job of handling the Mustang full court pressure. Holland, Dylan Willis and Daniel Kanakanui were dominant on the inside and kept the Mustangs off the boards and Willis and Holland scored 7 and 6 points respectively in the quarter.
Ragsdale had four players in double figures as James Stepp led the way with 18 points, while Joseph Bryant had 17, Willis and Holland both had 12. Holland also had 12 rebounds for his first double double of the season.
Devin Wilborn was the leading scorer for the Mustangs with 13 points. Jejuan Davis and Brandon McCray both scored 9.

Ragsdale Lady Tigers were led by Godwin Dooley who scored 11 points and had 11 rebounds. Mikayla Pettyjohn was also in double figures with 10 points.
Braeseandra Leak led Parkland with 12 points and Kaitlin Sherman added 10.
