Two teams going different directions:UNCG and Appalachian State[Guilford County kids helping ASU climb the mountain]

The UNCG men’s basketball team lost again on Sunday and the Spartans now stand or sit at (2-6) for the season, while the Appalachian State Mountaineers won their game at Kansas City, Missouri to break a seven-game losing streak and the APPS improve to (2-7)…

ASU starting to win again and UNCG still losing….

Appalachian got their starting point guard Michael Neal(Northern Guilford/Oak Ridge Military Academy) back on Sunday after an injury to start the season and App also got 12 points and 6 rebounds from Jay Canty(Ragsdale/ORMA)….

APP looks like and sounds like they are on their way back up, with Michael Obacha(HPCA/ORMA) helping them on the inside and APP also has Frank Eaves(Page HS) giving them valuable minutes, plus Jonathan Frye(Northern Guilford) will be ready to give them important time, when the second semester gets under way….

Still have to wonder why UNCG didn’t go after a few of these Guilford County kids harder when they were doing their recruiting duties…..

Scores from those games:
James Madison 85, UNCG 73….Appalachian State 81, UMKC 71….

  1. Where do you get your information, Andy. Michael Neal was definitely not injured. I hope Frye does get to play, but second semester has already begun from an eligibility standpoint. Frye is actually injured and Neal was an academic casualty. Isn’t Canty from Ragsdale their leading scorer?

  2. David Jackson and the radio broadcast are the info source…I will be talking to Frye in just a few days….In very close contact with all of these sources….Can’t reveal certain parts at this time, but it all goes through me….
