Wesleyan now ranked #8 in the Nation in the MaxPreps Academy Poll

After their win over Christ School last Friday night, WES has moved up to #8 in the Nation, in this week’s MaxPreps poll from www.maxpreps.com and this makes for some exciting for the Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans from High Point and they have some big games coming up later on this week…

8. (10) Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, N.C.), 9-0
Behind the play of freshman Harry Giles, WCA notched a huge win over then-No. 8 Christ School (Arden, N.C.) last week, ending an 81-game home win streak for the Greenies. Up next is the Chick-fil-A Classic in South Carolina, where they open against St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) in a very intriguing first round matchup.

  1. The tournament post Christmas has been cancelled. The Gulfshore Invitational is no more. Lot’s of people to blame.

Christ School is an interesting team this year as the starting pg and another teammate were recently kicked out of school. They look different now than they did earlier in the season and probably will look better once they re-adjust to the two losses.

  2. Is that the same tournament that Olympic High School out of Charlotte was due to be in???

Olympic lost $8,500 when the tournament shut down and US Air would not refund their tickets….

Big loss, no games no money back….The coach put the charges on his credit card and is out $8,500….

  3. Christ School is definitely not as good this year as they have been in the past. The loss of Eric Johnson has really hurt them. It is hard losing a pg. It does seem that they are having more players leave the program either by choice or by force such as Corbin Collins, Rob Gray, etc all left after winning the state championship. They all left after transferring up there.

  4. Apparently, the tournament was keeping the sponsors anonymous from what I have read in the local papers down there. That is fishy to me and schools should have taken note.
