1-A River Mill defeated 4-A West Charlotte 79-49, in the Kernersville Medical Holiday Shootout, at Northwest Guilford High School.
The fast-paced first quarter, featured end-to-end defensive pressure for both squads. There were a couple of lead changes until River Mill forged ahead by five points, by the end of the stanza.
Both teams shifted into warp-speed, as the second period resembled a track meet. River Mill outscored West Charlotte 31-16, to take a 50-30 lead into intermission.
West Charlotte scored the first six points of the third period, forcing River Mill to called a timeout. The Lady Jaguars refocused, and methodically pulled away.
River Mill used a balanced scoring attack to secure the victory, Jessica Gaston led West Charlotte with 19 points.
