HPU Men’s Lacrosse Adds Two Transfers to 2013 Squad

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Head coach Jon Torpey has announced the addition of two transfers to the High Point University men’s lacrosse team for the 2013 season. Sophomore Dylan Bozel is a midfielder from Rutgers and redshirt-sophomore Austin Geisler is a goalie from Virginia. Bozel and Geisler are able to play immediately for HPU this season.

“Dylan and Austin fit the mold of every player on the HPU men’s lacrosse roster,” Torpey said. “They are hard working, committed players and we believe they will make an impact on the team right away. Dylan is an athletic midfielder from one of the best high school programs in the country. Austin is a very good ball stopper with a commanding presence on the field. He is a great addition to a very strong group of goalies.”

Bozel played in one game for Rutgers last season, recording one shot against No. 13 Syracuse. Originally from Hunt Valley, Md., Bozel was an Under Armour All-American at Loyola Blakefield High School. He also eared All-State honors and participated in football and basketball.

Geisler spent two seasons at UVA, redshirting his first season and appearing in four games in 2012. He made his collegiate debut against VMI making one save. He finished the season with six saves in 43 minutes. Coming out of St. Anne’s-Belfield High School, Geisler was listed as the No. 28 recruit in the country and the No. 5 goalie by Inside Lacrosse. He was a two-time Adidas All-American and a two-time All-State selection.

Bozel and Geisler join High Point for the inaugural men’s lacrosse season, which begins Feb. 2 against Delaware at Vert Stadium.
