‘Big-Game’ setting for Guilford College Quakers at home TONIGHT vs. Randolph College

The Guilford College Quakers are home TONIGHT in a very important Old Dominion Athletic Conference basketball game versus Randolph College, from Lynchburg, Virginia….

Guilford comes into the key ODAC contest at (13-2/5-1), while the team from up on Rivermont Avenue, in the ‘Hill City’ of Lynchburg, Va., enters the matchup at (13-1/5-1) on the year….(Game time is set for 7pm in the Ragan-Brown Field House on the Guilford campus)

The Quakers have been playing pretty much ‘lights out’ basketball ever since coach Tom Palombo came to town and this season has been no different for the maroon-clad Quakers, as they have been wearing out the competition behind the overall leadeship of former Trinity Bulldog, Josh Pittman….I saw Pittman hit for 52 points one Saturday night, in a game out at Northern Guilford and this kid has changed his role to where now, he is just as much a distributor, as he is a scorer…..

Big-Time game this evening for Guilford and there have been quite a few of these in recent years for the Quakers, since they hit that NCAA DIII level and especially since the man with the trademark mustache, Tom Palombo, came to the west Greensboro campus on West Friendly Avenue, at New Garden Road….

*****Sidebar/Sidelines note*****They have always said that ‘Virginia is for Lovers’ and they must love traveling from Lynchburg to the Triad to play college basketball, as we have the Randolph team from Lynchburg at Guilford tonight and we also have the Liberty University team/squad, from Lynchburg, over at High Point University for a Big South Conference game, with the HPU Panthers this evening….

Busy night of local college basketball….
