THE SERIES: Saturday marks the 49th all-time meeting between Elon and Wofford. The Phoenix leads the series, 29-19, but Wofford has won the last four meetings. Elon is 10-5 at home against Wofford dating back to 1956. The first meeting between the two schools took place on February 4, 1920, as Elon came away with a 28-24 victory.

LAST MEETING: Wofford went on a 24-1 run that proved insurmountable for the Phoenix on February 15, 2012, as the Terriers claimed a 72-59 win. Elon went scoreless for a nine-minute stretch in the first half and Wofford took full advantage, shooting 59 percent in the opening frame en route to the league victory. Elon outscored Wofford, 37-34, in the final 20 minutes of play, but a 16-point halftime deficit proved to be too much for the maroon and gold to overcome. LOOKING BACK: Josh Bonney provided a spark off the bench that proved to ignite the Phoenix to a 73-59 victory over the visiting Furman Paladins on Thursday night, Jan. 17, inside Alumni Gym. Bonney knocked down 7-of-11 from the field in 21 minutes to finish with a season-high 15 points. Lucas Troutman scored in double figures for the 16th consecutive game, finishing with a team-high 18 points. Elon closed the first half on a 20-8 run over the final 8:30 and held the Paladins at arm’s length in the second period to secure the win.

APPROACHING A MILESTONE: Jack Isenbarger is nearing 1,000 career points, as the junior from Zionsville, Ind., enters Saturday’s game with 978 career points. Only 34 players in Elon’s 104-year history of men’s basketball have reached the 1,000-point milestone. Drew Spradlin was the last player to do so. Lucas Troutman is not far behind at 928 career points.
