  3. Appy your call is SO right/correct…

Has to be old school and here are a few more names to chew on, as you finish your dinner this evening….

    David Bowman
    Greg French
    Tom Waynick
    David Hardison
    Tim Sapp

*****All of these don’t compare to some of those that you have listed above, but they are for sure, old schoool…Would be interesting to see what guys like Kent and Everett are saying about this list….*****

  4. Been seeing the program since 2005. So I will put some new school names out there. Though I don’t believe they would make the overall list. No order. Reggie Perkins, Austin Lewis, Jordan Williams Daniel McCarty Diante Baldwin. But the boys program has been WEAK since 2005

For the girls, the only two girls are catrina green who is at Gardner Webb and Britney Clency. The girls program isn’t to bad now a days.

  5. Hornet77 knows this program as good as anybody around and we need to hear from him…

Didn’t Western have a guard named Ty Stout or did he go to GDS??? I think he might have later played at Greensboro College….

  6. At 5’7 I never put a lot of interest in basketball. LOL I did find that Ty Stout was from the class of 1980 and went to Guilford College after going to Western. He is an Oakley sales rep now in Charlotte.
Seems like Tommy Waynick’s younger brother Eddie was a good basketball player too. He went on to play pro baseball.
Johnny Smith helped coach basketball at Western back then. Maybe he can provide some names.

  7. Ray Coble played at WG in the early 70’s and went on to do well at High Point. John Ralls and Robert Kent played on Guilford’s national championship team after their Western careers. “Goose” Tatum was great one at WG as was Phillip Presley. Mike Everett had a great career at High Point after WG. Ty Stout played at Greensboro College for a couple of years. Tommy and Eddie Waynick were also good high school players back then as was Mark Gunther.
