Elon Softball Announces Addition to 2013 Signing Class

ELON, N.C. – Elon softball head coach Kathy Bocock announced the addition of pitcher Jordan Robbins of Governor Livingston High School to her 2013 recruiting class. A native of Mountainside, N.J., Robbins will be set to join the Phoenix in the circle next season and becomes the sixth member of the 2013 recruiting class.

“Jordan is a student-athlete from New Jersey and will add great depth to our pitching staff,” said Bocock. “She loves Elon, the game of softball and will give 100 percent effort out on the field for us.”

A three-year letterwinner at Governor Livingston under head coach Rick Iacano, Robbins helped lead the Highlanders to consecutive Union County championships in 2011 and 2012. She also earned first-team all-area honors in her sophomore and junior seasons and was inducted into the athletic honor society with a 3.5 GPA.

The daughter of Michael and Tracey Robbins, Jordan is currently undecided on a major.

Why Jordan chose Elon: “The first time I visited Elon, I fell in love with the school and knew this was where I was meant to be. Upon meeting the coaches, staff and players I was impressed with the softball program and the academic reputation Elon upholds. I am really looking forward to the next four years playing softball at the Division I level, while receiving a great education.”

Robbins joins Allison Burdette (South Charleston High School, Charleston, W. Va.), Alaina Hall (North Gwinnett High School, Suwanee, Ga.), Carey Million (The Hun School of Princeton, Roebling, N.J.), Jenna Reilly (Pope High School, Marietta, Ga.) and Emily Roper (Princeton High School, Cincinnati, Ohio) in the six-member 2013 class set to join the Phoenix next season.
