College Indoor Track & Field Results – School and Season Records Fall in Day Two of the Hilton Garden Inn Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, NC—School and season records fell for Guilford College Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field in day two of the Hilton Garden Inn Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. NCAA schools of all divisions from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee participated in the event including three other Old Dominion Athletic Conference schools.

Jasmine O’Neill (Winston-Salem, N.C./Parkland) broke her own 800 meter record with a time of 2:36.01, 1.47 seconds off the top mark in school history. O’Neill’s time placed seventh among Division III participants.

Jennifer Thomas (Randleman, N.C./Randleman) (30.05 seconds) broke her own 200 meter dash record by .69 seconds.

The Guilford women’s 4×400 meter relay team of Rachel Flint, Pasangi Perera, Rebecca Reyna, and O’Neill (4:43.68) narrowly missed their own school record by just .03 seconds.

Reyna (5:55.44) also improved on the school’s top mark this season in the mile run by 6.54 seconds.

Andris Goncarovs led Guilford’s men in the 3,000 meter run with the school’s season-best mark of 8:51.81, 3.06 seconds off the school record. His time placed 14th overall and second among Division III participants. Not far behind, Chad Norton (8:52.09) finished just .28 seconds behind Goncarovs. David Cason (Clemmons, N.C./West Forysth) (8:57.61) beat his season-best run by 16.12 seconds.

C.J. Green (23.59 seconds) logged the fourth best Division III time in the 200 meter dash. Green beat is own school season-best time in the 200 meter dash by .15 seconds.

The Quakers take a two-week break from competition before returning to action February 16th at the Kent Taylor Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
