Greensboro College Women’s Basketball Blows by Mary Baldwin 84-56

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — The Greensboro College women’s basketball team (11-8 overall, 7-6 USA South) rolled to an 84-56 (0-20 overall, 0-13 USA South) home victory over Mary Baldwin. The Pride finished off the season sweep of the Fighting Squirrels after picking up a forfeit win on December 2.

Greensboro eliminated any chance of drama from the beginning, scoring the first five points and extending the lead to 16-6 at the 14:35 mark. Mary Baldwin was able to stay within reasonable striking distance, trailing 25-16 with 8:13 left in the half.

The Pride, however, finished the half on a 15-5 spurt to go into the break on top 40-21. Greensboro would continue to pile it on the second half, growing the margin to 33 points before cruising home for the win.

Chevena Pickard paced the attack with 16 points and six rebounds, while Bianca Richburg added 13 points and eight rebounds. Jena Cabe also contributed 12 points as a total of 15 Pride players found the scoring column.

Greensboro finished the game shooting 36.0% from the field and held a commanding 61-35 advantage on the boards. The Pride also forced 23 turnovers on the day and made 24 total free throws.
