Redshirt-senior Corey Law of the High Point University men’s basketball team is part of the 2013 Dark Horse Dunker competition. Fans can vote once a day at http://www.Facebook.com/collegeslam and the winner will be invited to the 25th annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships in Atlanta.

Dark Horse Dunker nominees are “under-the-radar” players who have what it takes to compete in the slam dunk competition in Atlanta. Sixteen dunkers have been selected for the five-week knockout competition that is voted on by fans through Facebook. Law is facing-off against Murray State’s Ed Daniel in round one, which runs through Feb. 25.

The 2013 State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships take place on April 4 at 7 p.m. in Atlanta. The competition will be televised live on ESPN.

Law was selected for his “dynamic combination of power and elevation” shown in this submission video. The official statement read: “Law flashes the in-game ability to dunk over anyone, and on the practice court, he can close a between-the-legs jam with ease.”

Two years in a row, the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker moved on to win the entire Denny’s Slam Dunk Competition. James Justice from Martin Methodist College won in 2012 after Jacob Tucker of Illinois College won the year before.

Law is a 6-foot-6, 215-pound redshirt-senior forward for the Panthers. He has scored 833 points (8.2 ppg) and grabbed 658 rebounds (6.5 per game) in his four seasons. Law’s 658 rebounds rank third on High Point’s NCAA Div. I rebounding list. Law is originally from Chesapeake, Va., and attended Deep Creek High School. He was an All-State selection and was named 2008 All-Tidewater Player of the Year and Southeastern District Player of the Year as a senior.
