The Women’s Basketball team from Guilford Technical Community College traveled to Martinsville, Virginia and defeated Patrick Henry Community College 62 – 59. Up 2 with 4 minutes to go, Dana Gildea had back to back baskets including an and one that stretched the lead to 7. From their the Titan defense held down the fort as their previously hot free throw shooting went ice cold. While going 2 for 8 from the charity stripe they were able to maintain the lead by getting several key defensive stops. Two Brittnee Roberts free throws pushed the lead to 6 with 5 seconds to go, a late desperation 3 landed for PHCC cutting the final score to 3. GTCC has now won 3 consecutive conference games by a grand total of 8 points. Their next contest is a home tilt with Lenoir CC on Sunday at 2 at the Ragsdale YMCA.
