Looking back at last night’s Duke-North Carolina basketball game:P.J. Hairston(Dudley HS) making the grade(A-)

Duke 73-68 over North Carolina last night in Durham and not a bad game at all by Greensboro’s P.J. Hairston, out of Dudley High School and Hargrave Military Academy…

Going to give P.J. an A- on his efforts last night and even though his work was in a losing effort last evening, P.J. hit for 23 points, he grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 3 assists…

P.J. was attacking the basket on offense and he probably had one of his better games as a Tar Heel on defense..He must have drawn at least three charging fouls and he was very close to drawing a fourth and we hadn’t seen him doing things like that before…Very impressive on defense there…He did get beat on a layup in the second half, but that is going to happen at some point in the game, you just don’t want that to occur more often than not…

P.J. would receive the straight A mark on his report card here, but the one thing that was the key strength of his game, went cold on him last night and that was his three-point shooting…Hairston went 1-7 from behind the arc and that is not the norm for him…

With the three-pointer not falling like it usually does, P.J. took the ball to the rack and with much success, as the 23-point night proves out…Pretty sure that was a career-high for him again and with all of his moves to the basket, he found himself on the foul line eight times and he converted six of his eight attempts….

Not a bad night for P.J. Hairston and for sure worthy of the A- on today’s report card from GreensboroSports.com…..(P.J. saw 34 minutes of action last night at Duke.)
