Greensboro Day School Varsity Girls Beat Charlotte Latin, Finish Regular Season 27-4

The GDS Varsity Girls Basketball Team completed their most successful regular season in school history with a 59-36 victory over Charlotte Latin. The Bengals 27-4 regular season record included an 8-0 Conference Record.

Caroline Spurr’s three first half 3-pointers and Ronata Rogers 10 first half points paced the Bengals to a 9 point lead at the half. In The second half, Tamera Thorpe’s hot shooting and Imani Atkinson’s defensive energy sparked the Bengals to a 20 point lead early in the 3rd quarter. With 19 points in the game, Tamera Thorpe passed 500 points for the season.

The NCISAA State Tournament begins with the first round Tuesday night and runs through Saturday, February 23rd in Charlotte.
