Oglesby Scores 1,000th Point in Quakers’ Win Against Randolph, 59-44

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Gabby Oglesby (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) became the 17th 1,000-point scorer in Guilford history Saturday in the Quakers’ 59-44 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Randolph College. The Senior Day game honored Guilford’s three seniors: Brittany Atwater, Shelly Barker and Jaclyn Nucci.

Guilford (21-4, 13-2 ODAC) began the game on a 12-0 run. Barker scored six points and grabbed four rebounds in the initial run. Randolph (4-20, 3-13 ODAC) scored its first points of the game with Emilee Dunton’s three-pointer. The Quakers entered the locker room up 35-18 at the half and never gave up their lead. Guilford scored 26 points in the paint to Randolph’s 12.

Oglesby paced the Quakers with 13 points and a game-high four steals. She stood second in rebounds (7). Atwater added 10 points. Nucci shared game-high rebounds honors (9) with Randolph’s Megan Russell. Barker tied her season-high with eight points. Brittany Drew and Morgan King added six off-the-bench points each.

The Wildcats’ Abigail Bullins had a game-high 21 points, making five jumpers from beyond the arch. Dunton tallied eight points. Russell added seven points off the bench.

The win wrapped up regular-season play for the Quakers. They have earned an opening-round bye for the ODAC tournament, which begins Monday. Guilford will play in Thursday’s quarterfinal round Thursday at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. The full ODAC pairings will be announced Saturday night.
