Post-Game Interview with Page High School’s Anthony Eaves and Pirates’ coach James Abell, after OT win over Smith, on Monday night

Anthony Eaves hit the game-winning shot for the Page Pirates last night in Overtime, in Round One of the NCHSAA boys basketball playoffs and we got the chance to talk with Anthony and his coach James Abell, right after the win and they really broke it all down and you can hear and see it all, with the coach and the kid that helped send the Pirates on to Round Two of the playoffs, on Wednesday night, at Mount Tabor….

56-56 and one free throw for Simpson misses…Page rebounds and Anthony Eaves a last-second/side-ways toss for three and he hits and PAGE wins 59-56….Wild shot by Eaves at the end/BUZZER and the PAGE fans storm the court….Lots of fans taking cell phone photos of that last-second shot…..PAGE over Smith, 59-56 in OT on a BUZZER-BEATER by Eaves…

7.6 seconds left and Aaron Simpson at the line for Smith with two free throws…Makes first and now tied at 56-56…

56-55 Page with 36.9 seconds in OT…One free throw by JT Williams and a a layup by Justin Neal of Page….

54-54 all tied up..Carter Stanley with one of free throws for Page…54-54 with 1:13 to play in OT….

  1. I watched the youtube video…it looked like a very exciting game. I’m with the Page coach…5 times playing the same team is a bit much and to have to play each other in the first round of the playoffs doesn’t make a lot of sense either. Good year for Smith under Coach Partee. Hate to see the SENIORS go, but hopefully we will do better next year….EAGLE PRIDE!!

  3. Eaves is the main man on the Pirates team. It knows the game and the ball should be in his hands at all times and especially during crucial times. The rest of the team should follow his lead.
