Gareth McKee led off the game for Wheatmore and took the second pitch he saw over the left centerfield wall to put the Warriors up 1 – 0. The score remained that way until the fourth, when Wheatmore got back to back singles to drive in runs from Chase Saunders and Clint Marsh to go up 3 – 0. They added a final run in the fifth as McKee singled to drive in Bradley Hunt who had gotten on board with a walk.

Tim Ambrose got the start for Ragsdale and went 4 2/3 giving up four runs on four hits to take the loss. Saunders started for the Warriors and was in command from the start, striking out 10 batters and only allowing 3 base runners. Saunders only went to a three ball count on one batter.

Ragsdale will travel to Wilson, NC on Saturday to face D.H. Conley at 4:00 PM while Wheatmore will be at East Davidson on Friday for a 4:30 game.

  1. That pitcher for Wheatmore was tough. Whole team was big. They should do well at the 2A level.
