What’s up next for our local HS basketball teams??? SEG vs. Page and Dudley-Mount Tabor, plus NG-Chapel Hill{Door is Open with Myers Park Gone]

On to the NCHSAA Regionals next week and we see four of our Guilford County teams still in the hunt as they all head into Greensboro and Fayetteville, with action beginning next Tuesday…

We have:
4-A Girls with two Guilford County teams still in the race and they will face each other in Round One of the Regionals according to the NCHSAA Brackets…..
Page Pirates(26-1) vs. Southeast Guilford Falcons(23-6)…..How about that Metro 4-A Conference????
They meet at the Greensboro Coliseum or at UNCG next week…Many are calling for it on Thursday night at 8:30pm….

4-A Boys at the Greensboro Coliseum….
Dudley Panthers(23-6) vs. Mount Tabor Spartans(26-3)
Haven’t heard a time call on this yet…..Huge run by Sam Hunt in the playoffs with games of 41. 31 and 30 points….

3-A Girls at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville…..
Northern Guilford Nighthawks(29-1) vs. Chapel Hill Tigers(27-1)
Time for Southern Guilford to give Coach Furlough a call…..SG got eliminated by Chapel Hill tonight…..Let them know that Chapel Hill brings pressure and they try and take you out of your game early, but everybody does that these days, right???

Big Week next week for our local teams….

*****Before tonight, in the past two seasons, Myers Park was 60-1, with the one loss coming in the 2012 Western regional championship game. Myers Park now (60-2), after tonight’s loss to the Southeast Guilford Falcons….*****

  1. Well Page and SE meet again. Should be a really good game, both teams have had good seasons. But pulling for the Lady Pirates since I’m a Almuni. Let’s Go Pirates!!

  2. Eastern Alamance boys’ team also won tonight defeating Fayetteville Westover 86-83 in overtime. They’ll play JF Webb (McDonalds All American and UNC signee Isaiah Hicks) in the next round also in Fayetteville. The Triad area is well represented !

  3. Page has had a great year with its only loss coming from Southeast. This will be a great game. I’m going have to say though Southeast will pull it off when they meet for a 3rd time. GO FALCONS. Congrats page on the win tonight.

  4. Congrats to the Page Pirates and the SE Falcons, two great wins by two great programs! But I do hate they have to faceoff so soon in the playoffs. Good luck to both!

Page girls are a great team plus they have the advantage of having played several games at the coliseum during the Christmas Tournament while SE has been turned down in their efforts to play in the holiday event. With the County AD on the Sports Council, it seems crazy they pick and choose who gets to participate with no rotation. But SE has 3 impressive wins on the road while Page has been able to flourish at home. Both teams know each other very well so it should be showdown.

  6. No offense SE FAN but Page and SE have already played 3 times two in conference and once in conference tourney. Page won by 18 in that game. But good luck to both teams.

  7. Seagraves will be dominated by Muse and once again….no state title for boys basketball in Guilford County

  8. Coach Seagraves is going to do OK…He has kept the Dudley Panthers in the Hunt all season long and he will have them ready for Tabor…The team ‘D’ will be the key and Sam needs to hit for about 33….
